Just got 2 feet of snow from the storm yesterday and the day before + about 8 inches from previous snow. In your opinion, what's the best vehicle to get through 3 feet of snow?

Jetpack. Or, jetpacks. One on each tire.

I had a Wrangler TJ when living in the lake effect snow regions of upstate NY and I never got into a situation I couldn't get out if. And I tried! Two feet of fallen snow was no problem and I would regularly drive up/over/through plowed banks to get in and out of my driveway. I would use snow as an excuse to go driving...

'94 Ranger 4.0L 5 speed with 4x4. Never thought it was any better than most other trucks, but after watching my coworker almost wreck and F250 and me struggling to keep a Sport Trac going straight, my Ranger I can drive to work in 2WD with is pretty damn good.

Ford F-650 or what ever that beast is. Just kidding, best vehicle I have ever had in the snow was a Jeep Wrangler. But really it comes down to having your vehicle properly equipped. I have used my Ram 3500 to get around and pull people out of the snow. Having new winter rated tires helps.
Put 6 of these on this season and they are quite good in the snow.

Meant to reply to the OP. Ah well. Jet packs were the right response...I see this now.

Sorry, perhaps you misheard me. Jet. Packs. You don't have to pull the entire front of the car off to service it.
(For real, though, Quattros are a good pick, old or new.)
Edit: Missed your edit. Glad to see you are on the winning team here.

As mentioned on TG, they're too light to get stuck. And if they do, you can get out and lift them free.

Any kind of 4x4, as long as you have WINTER TIRES! I have owned Jeeps, Rovers, etc., and the key is WINTER TIRES, along with slow speeds. As well, why the fuck to you want to go rideabout in 3 feet of snow? Sure, emergency, but lets face it, we just want to go carving up the local terrain!

Put a ski on the front tire/wheel and you're good to go.
